Texas police find 21 cats living in hotel room (AP)

AP – A man who previously kept dead animals in cold storage and dozens more living in filthy conditions in a Dallas home was under investigation Monday after police found almost two dozen cats in his suburban motel room. Plano police stopped the man on Sunday and found he had outstanding warrants for animal cruelty and outdated animal vaccinations related to his previous case.

Mass. woman accused of swiping trooper with SUV (AP)

AP – A woman was charged with swiping a state trooper with her Mercedes SUV as he tried to write her a ticket at Boston’s Logan Airport on Tuesday. The trooper was not hurt. The woman pleaded not guilty Monday to assault and battery on a police officer and assault with a dangerous weapon. She was released on her own recognizance.

Man upset over taxes charged for ‘drive-by’ remark (AP)

AP – No matter how frustrating taxes get, it’s not a good idea to threaten to do a drive-by shooting at the state Department of Revenue. Authorities charged man with two counts of terroristic threats after he got upset and allegedly told a Department of Revenue supervisor he was going to do a drive-by shooting.

Woman accused of driving 103 with grandson in car (AP)

AP – Authorities arrested a woman accused of driving 103 mph with her 10-year-old grandson in the car. Sheriff’s Lt. Sheila Lorance said Deputy Ryan Postlewait saw the woman’s Mazda 6 whizz by on Hylo Road on Sunday, and he confirmed the speed on a radar gun. Though the road is known to attract speeders, Postlewait reported that he has never clocked anyone driving that fast.

Police: Man skips out of paying for prosthetic leg (AP)

AP – A man who police say skipped out of paying for a prosthetic leg has been arrested. Police said the man was arrested March 9 at an Omaha, Neb., apartment and charged with conspiracy to sell methamphetamine. Pottawattamie County, Iowa, Sheriff Jeff Danker said the man was brought to his jail on suspicion of being in the country illegally. That’s when authorities discovered he was wanted on a warrant for the theft of the leg.

Susan Levin of the Washington-based Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine sent a letter to the Grand Rapids minor-league team on Tuesday. She’s asking that the 4,800-calorie burger be labeled a “dietary disaster” that increases the risk of cancer and heart disease.
